I got another 1g of memory to put in and it said it was compatible and the person that sold it to me said it would work in my pc . I get home i put it in and i turned my pc on and it loaded up and to system to see if it showed i had 2g of memory now and it still showed 1g of memory so i unplugged the pc and removed it and put just the new one in to make sure it worked . and pc loaded up and all when i turned it on so i turned it back off and unplugged it and add the one i had been using to it and turned it on again was still not reading the other one so i turned the pc off and turned it back on with out switching or changing them and now it gets to the screen where it says windows xp and had the blue bar under it show its loading does it about 3 to 4 times then goes to the black screen right be for the password box shows up and then flips really fast to the blue screen with that error and then restarts and repeats it i have tried to find help with error at microsoft and it says that the ram was not the same speed and i have to reset it Im lost not sure how to fix it .STOP: 0x0000007F (0x00000008, 0x80042000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)?
