Electric Power - Mexico - Mexico gas compression call receives three bids

Three groups tabled bids to build and operate the Soto la Marina natural gas compression station in Mexico's Tamaulipas state for national utility CFE, according to a document obtained by BNamericas.

The groups and corresponding bids are: Spain's Enag?s in consortium with Servicios de Compresi?n SLM (US$88.7mn); a consortium of Mexican firms Servicios Integrales de Compresi?n and Taylor Servicios T?cnicos (US$101mn); and US firm Sempra's (NYSE: SRE) local unit IEnova (US$135mn).

CFE officials will review the economic proposals alongside technical proposals submitted by each group.

The contract includes construction and 20 years of operation of a 1.85Bf3/d (52.3Mm3/d) compression station on the 48-inch Las Tunas natural gas pipeline owned by national oil company Pemex's gas subsidiary PGPB.

The contract is scheduled to be awarded July 31.
